After experiencing Gaggan, I had the fine dining bug. é is an exclusive 9-seat chefs table inside of chef José Andrés’ restaurant Jaleo at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, serving 20-something courses made right before your very eyes.
The restaurant featured on Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown while exploring the not so well known parts of Las Vegas, enjoying a seating with José himself.
Contrary to popular belief, obtaining a reservation is not too tricky – just make sure to plan months in advance. There are showtimes (seatings) at 5:30pm and 8:30pm nightly Tuesday through Sunday, with a meal expected to take around 2 and a half hours. Go for the later seating so you don’t feel rushed.
As if 20-something courses of the finest Spanish gastronomy wasn’t enough, there is an optional alcohol paring to accompany the meal.
There are 3 levels of alcohol parings available, all serving the same types of drinks at different price points. The first cost around $130, the second around $300, and the third…. well the third was by request so guessing well into 4 figures. We chose the first, and ended up with white wines, red wines, vermouths and cocktails – it would be crazy not to get this wonderful accompaniment.
The meal itself costs $250/person, and lives up to the pricing. From service to quality of food to overall experience it was amazing (they even send you some Willy Wonker-esque golden tickets to confirm your reservation), we will certainly be returning.
Oh yeah, we took a couple of photos too…
